Topical Treatments For Acne

Acne can be one of the worst skin issues you can get.  Sometimes people develop acne in their teens.  Other times people do not develop acne until they are adults.  Acne can cause havoc to your personal life and your appearance.  Acne can be treated a variety of ways.  You may not know that there are acne topical treatments available over the counter as well as prescription treatments.

If you visit a dermatologist they may prescribe both an oral treatment and an acne topical treatment.  There are a wide variety of prescription topical treatments available.  A lot of the topical treatments for acne include benzoyl peroxide as well as an antibiotic.  Using a topical antibiotic reduces some of the side effects that can be caused when taking them.  Topical treatments reduce side effects such as nausea that can be caused by oral treatments.  Some of the side effects that can be caused by topical acne treatments are dry sensitive skin and peeling.  These side effects are usually very mild and become less of an issue over time.  Your dermatologist may also prescribe a retinoid.  Retinoids come from vitamin A.

There are also acne topical treatments that are available over the counter.  Over the counter treatments can come in creams, lotions, and washes.  These acne products may contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.  There are also some acne products that contain sulphur in them.  There are many different brands of over the counter acne medications.  You may have to try a few different products before you find one that will work the best for your acne.  Not all acne medication will work for everyone.  You will need to find the best combination for your skin type.

Whether you choose to visit a dermatologist or try to treat your acne yourself is up to you.  You may choose to try and treat your acne yourself for a variety of reasons.  Many people do not visit a dermatologist due to the costs that are involved.  Over the counter medications may work well for you.  Many people are able to control their acne with non prescription methods.  Acne topical treatments are a good choice for many people whether they are prescription or not.

Is Homeopathic Acne Treatment A Good Alternative?

Yes, there are many options for treating acne.  There are even homeopathic acne treatments available.  Acne can be very damaging not only to your skin but to your personal esteem as well.  Acne is however very treatable.  There are many different types of acne.  Acne comes in blackheads, whiteheads, and also cystic types.  Acne can be caused by many different factors as well.  Some acne can be hereditary or can be caused by a change in hormones.  You can get acne as a teenager or as an adult.

You can visit a homeopathic doctor for homeopathic acne treatment instead of a dermatologist.  Homeopathic doctors look at other factors that may be causing the acne.  Homeopathic doctors do not normally treat acne directly but instead treat the disorder that may be causing the acne.  Homeopathic treatment consists of using natural products and compounds to support your immune system.  In this way homeopathic treatment helps treat your acne by using your body to heal itself.

If you are very sensitive to chemicals and medications then homeopathic treatment may be a better choice for you.  There is no magic overnight cure for acne it does take awhile to treat it.  When you first start a new treatment you may have an increase in your breakouts.  It can take a month or two to find out if the current treatment is the correct homeopathic acne treatment for you.  Once you find the correct treatment your acne will gradually lessen.  If you have mild acne it may not take very long to see a dramatic change in your acne.  If you have a severe case of acne it may take much longer to see a dramatic change.

Every one is different and our bodies and immune systems vary.  What may be a great homeopathic acne treatment for one person may not work for you.  Working with a homeopathic doctor instead of on your own may increase your chance for finding the best treatment for you.  Working with a homeopathic doctor may also lessen the time that it takes.  Just remember that though it may take perseverance acne is treatable and you will find a treatment that will work for you.

My Daily Skin Care

1) Before I shower, I dry brush with a natural bristle brush to exfoliate and stimulate the lymphatic system and circulation. I start at my feet and work upward including my underarms. Then I shower using tepid water. Heat is dehydrating. I finish with moisturizer, including Dove and deoderant.

2) By the time I get to work, I’ve had my morning infusion of hot water and half a lemon with a dash of cayenneto stimulate and cleanse my system. Healthy skin is a holistic enterprise. It begins at the scalp, finishes at the toes, and includes knees and the delicate underarms

3) I make a point of eating wild salmon regularly. The boost to my skin’s firmness is remarkable. I’m also sure to include nutritious veggies and hydrating greens.

4) Exercise reduces stress, which can affect the very way we hold our faces; repetitive expressions can lead to lines and wrinkles. Inversions redirect blood flow, pumping blood into your face, neck and chest, improving circulation and skin tone.

5) One or twice weekly, I use a mask to calm, smooth, soften, protect, and gently remove impurities without drying the skin. This one has an exfoliating enzyme to lift surface cells, leaving my skin brighter and even-toned.
